Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conceived primarily as the solo outlet for Vivian Girls bassist Katy Goodman, the second La Sera full-length sharply refines its 1960s girl-group homage. The production steps slightly out of the murky lo-fi reverb of her debut, allowing her pristine vocal harmonies and driving, surf-tinged guitar riffs to take center stage. The album is a concise, highly infectious collection of bittersweet power-pop anthems dealing heavily with romantic disillusionment.
