Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping away from the strict, a cappella traditionalism of their renowned family group, the siblings enlisted members of Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span for this eccentric masterpiece. Comprising entirely original, highly poetic material, the arrangements incorporate subtle electric instrumentation to frame Lal Waterson's striking, pagan-esque lyrical imagery. It is widely heralded as a mythical, deeply idiosyncratic landmark of the British folk revival.
