Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'Honeymoon', Lana Del Rey shifts from the rock-oriented sound of her prior work to embrace grand, cinematic baroque pop and trip-hop with elements of jazz and trap. The album's production, helmed with longtime collaborators Rick Nowels and Kieron Menzies, is defined by sweeping strings, languid tempos, and restrained percussion, which create a hazy, atmospheric backdrop for her layered, ethereal vocals. Thematically, the songs explore familiar territories of tortured romance, violence, and escapism, rendered with a sense of noirish glamour and detached melancholy.
