Album Notes & Community Reviews

The New York-based country radio DJ makes an assured transition to recording artist with this critically lauded debut. 'Not the Tremblin' Kind' offers a remarkably pure, uncluttered take on traditional country and honky-tonk, highlighting Cantrell's clear, unadorned vocal delivery. Famously championed by influential DJ John Peel, the album established her as a vital traditionalist voice within the alt-country movement.
