Album Notes & Community Reviews

At just 19 years old, Laura Nyro introduced her dynamic, gospel-inflected piano style to the Brill Building pop format. The arrangements occasionally restrain her erratic tempo shifts with standard studio orchestration, yet her distinct vocal phrasing and intricate jazz-pop chord progressions remain the central focus.
