Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded heavily pregnant and intimately grappling with the recent suicides of two close friends, the Portland-based songwriter delivered an incredibly striking, emotionally profound ninth album. Featuring guest vocal contributions from Neko Case and Jim James, the record beautifully weaves lush chamber-folk instrumentation around themes of intense motherhood, mourning, and artistic endurance.
