Album Notes & Community Reviews

This double album collects the beautifully understated chamber music of Laurence Crane, performed by the Apartment House ensemble. Crane's work is defined by its extreme simplicity, focusing on gentle, static harmonies and common tonal objects placed in new contexts. The music possesses a quiet, melancholic beauty and a peculiar English wit, inviting the listener to find profundity in the ordinary.
