Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning after a nearly ten-year studio absence, the revered multimedia artist and avant-garde composer delivered a haunting, meditative critique of post-9/11 American culture. Co-produced with her husband Lou Reed, the album merges her distinctive spoken-word poetry with Tuvan throat singing, melancholic strings, and dark ambient electronics to craft a politically charged, ethereal atmosphere.
