The Absence of Blight

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Peter M. Kersten's album as Lawrence is a definitive statement of his deeply melodic and melancholic take on microhouse and minimal techno. The tracks are built around subtle, looping melodies and warm, bass-heavy grooves, evoking a nocturnal and introspective mood. As a key release on the Dial label, which he co-founded, the album helped to define the emotive and atmospheric sound of Hamburg's electronic music scene.
