Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven primarily by his commanding Hammond organ and soulful vocals, the California multi-instrumentalist's debut offers a distinct flavor of organ-based rock. 'Carnival of Life' pairs introspective songwriting with the kaleidoscopic studio flourishes typical of the psychedelic era. The album establishes the foundation for the heavy, blues-inflected rock that would define his later commercial successes.
