Following his departure from Blue Cheer, the pioneering heavy metal guitarist shifted gears to create a surprisingly restrained and atmospheric solo debut. Recorded in London, the sessions incorporate prominent piano and softer, acid-tinged song structures that diverge sharply from the crushing fuzz of his previous work.
