Album Notes & Community Reviews

Bolstered by the cultural upheaval of May 1968, the veteran French poet and provocateur delivered a staggeringly intense, highly political masterwork. The record drastically updates his traditional chanson sound with symphonic grandiosity and moments of jarring experimental rock, led by the backing band Zoo. His ferocious, theatrical vocal delivery rails against societal norms, cementing his legacy as an uncompromising voice of musical anarchy.
