Album Notes & Community Reviews

Foregoing traditional song structures, the anarchist poet delivered intensely dramatic, spoken-word soliloquies over brooding symphonic orchestrations. The bleak, uncompromising masterpiece reflects profound disillusionment with the aftermath of the May 68 protests, solidifying his reputation as an intellectually ferocious icon of French chanson.
