Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping out on his own after replacing Donny Hathaway in The Impressions, the remarkably gifted singer-songwriter and producer delivered a stunningly lush solo debut. The record is characterized by deeply romantic lyricism, sweeping orchestral arrangements, and a beautifully understated vocal delivery that helped define the highly sophisticated, incredibly smooth sound of 1970s Chicago soul.
