African Blue

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Attempting to update his pioneering exotica sound for a new era, the legendary composer and arranger injects heavy, syncopated jazz-funk rhythms into his sweeping orchestral templates. The album features prominent African percussion and grooving basslines layered beneath dramatic, cinematic string sections. It represents a highly successful, intensely groovy modernization of mid-century lounge music.
