Album Notes & Community Reviews

The founding architect of the exotica movement successfully injects his trademark, atmospheric studio orchestrations with the aggressive, swinging power of a full jazz big band. Utilizing prominent Latin percussion and echoing flutes, the arrangements create a highly stylized, cinematic interpretation of primal landscapes. It perfectly exemplifies the sophisticated, highly manufactured escapism of mid-century stereophonic pop.
