Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut full-length from the eclectic French duo introduced a wildly theatrical blend of synth-pop, post-punk, and chanson traditions. Characterized by Catherine Ringer's eccentric vocal performances and Fred Chichin's inventive arrangements, the album broke commercial ground in Europe. 'Rita Mitsouko' laid the foundation for the group's lasting influence on alternative European pop.
