Anchored by Mark King's spectacular slap-bass technique, 'True Colours' finds the British band refining their jazz-funk roots into highly polished sophisti-pop. The record showcases increasingly complex melodic songwriting and pristine production, yielding several notable chart successes across Europe. It stands as a pivotal transitional album leading into their most dominant commercial era.
