Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking their definitive transition from a respected jazz-funk ensemble into a massive international pop act, this sixth studio album masterfully balanced complex musicianship with radio-ready hooks. 'World Machine' is anchored by Mark King's virtuosic slap-bass playing and pristine, mid-80s synthesizer production. The immensely successful singles 'Lessons in Love' and 'Something About You' established the band as a quintessential fixture of the sophisticated pop era.
