Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Songs from a World Apart' unites duduk master Levon Minassian with composer Armand Amar, who wraps the Armenian wind instrument in strings played by the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra. Its closing piece, 'Nusrat's Alap', is constructed around the recorded voice of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, extending the album's dialogue between Armenian lament and Sufi song.
