Album Notes & Community Reviews

Drastically shifting away from the hardcore-infused metal of their revered debut, Life of Agony embraces a highly depressive, intensely melodic alternative rock sound on 'Ugly'. The album relies heavily on Mina Caputo's deeply emotive, mournful baritone and slow, sludgy, grunge-influenced riffing. It remains a highly polarizing yet deeply fascinating document of mid-90s metal bands navigating the alternative boom.
