Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded during the height of the folk revival, this acoustic session strips away the electric backing of his commercial R&B hits to focus on his raw, unadorned storytelling. The intimate setting highlights his idiosyncratic, irregular guitar rhythms and deeply personal lyricism, reintroducing the veteran bluesman to a new generation of listeners.
