Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded by folklore enthusiast Mack McCormick during the early stages of the blues revival, this highly intimate release strips the veteran artist down to his absolute essentials. Focusing entirely on traditional narratives and unadorned acoustic fingerpicking, the session vividly captures the raw, conversational brilliance of his impromptu storytelling. The recordings effectively bridged the gap between authentic rural traditions and the eager audiences of the impending folk boom.
