Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pivoting away from the ska and reggae influences of her debut, the singer embraced a layered electropop sound produced entirely by Greg Kurstin. The album pairs incredibly sweet, upbeat synthesizer arrangements with cutting, hyper-observational lyrics tackling consumerism, bad relationships, and modern celebrity culture. It achieved massive global success, establishing the artist as one of the sharpest satirical voices in modern pop.
