Album Notes & Community Reviews
'The Outsider, the Music of Jules De Corte' reworks songs by Dutch singer-songwriter Jules de Corte, translated into English by Thomas Jillings and sung by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy with the Belgian improvising quartet Linus. The arrangements slow the originals down and open them out, trading de Corte's piano for guitars, clarinet and banjo while keeping the songs' wordplay and small dramas intact.
