Album Notes & Community Reviews

Assembled largely from leftover studio outtakes and unreleased sessions after the dynamic pioneer abruptly quit rock and roll to join the ministry, this collection closes out his highly influential initial era. To pad the running time, the label aggressively overdubbed vocal groups and instrumental backing onto several unfinished demos. Despite its piecemeal construction, the record contains vital, ferociously energetic performances that undeniably shaped the very foundations of the genre.
