Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by its ubiquitous, massive title track, this album cements the vocalist's status as a premier crossover star of the early rock and roll era. The arrangements merge the aggressive, syncopated bounce of New Orleans rhythm and blues with slick, highly polished studio brass. It perfectly captures the infectious, swaggering energy that made him a foundational architect of modern R&B.
