Album Notes & Community Reviews

Riding the crest of the British skiffle boom he single-handedly ignited, the energetic performer delivers an engaging set of traditional American folk songs and spirituals. The unpretentious, acoustic-driven arrangements rely heavily on washboard percussion and driving guitar strumming to create a lively, participatory atmosphere. The album captures the DIY spirit that directly inspired the next generation of British rock musicians.
