Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping away from his prominent sideman role with Pharoah Sanders, the keyboardist formed his own ensemble to explore a deeply ethereal, celestial brand of fusion. Emphasizing heavily atmospheric Fender Rhodes textures and dense, polyrhythmic percussion, the debut became a foundational text for cosmic, groove-oriented 1970s jazz.
