Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating without his former DJ Mike Smooth, the Bronx lyricist stepped up to co-produce much of his sophomore effort alongside genre heavyweights like Showbiz and Diamond D. 'Return of the Funky Man' is a foundational text of 90s New York boom bap, characterized by crisp drum breaks and Finesse's technically astonishing, punchline-heavy braggadocio. The release solidified his standing as a central figure in the legendary D.I.T.C. collective.
