Album Notes & Community Reviews
Lorde's second album 'Melodrama' represents a sonic shift from the minimalism of her debut, embracing a maximalist electropop sound co-created with producer Jack Antonoff that incorporates piano-based melodies and dense, pulsing synthesizers. The record serves as a loose concept album that channels the emotional aftermath of a breakup and solitude through the narrative lens of a single house party, capturing the vivid feelings of early adulthood.
