Solar Power

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Trading the dark, neon-lit melodrama of her previous work for sun-soaked acoustic guitars and 2000s wellness culture satire, the pop star returned with a remarkably subdued third record. Produced alongside Jack Antonoff, the highly organic, drum-less arrangements focus heavily on themes of environmentalism and escaping the anxieties of internet fame. While polarizing to some fans, it stands as a bold, deliberately uncommercial pivot for the artist.
