Subtitled 'Bomba y Plena en Nueva York', this album takes its title from a composition by the group's founder Juan Guti茅rrez, released in the year he received the National Endowment for the Arts' National Heritage Fellowship. It documents the intergenerational East Harlem ensemble, founded in 1983, carrying Puerto Rico's two Afro-Caribbean drum traditions into the diaspora.
