Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating on the West Coast, this quintet session deliberately eschews the region's famously 'cool', subdued reputation in favor of aggressive, East Coast-style hard bop. The trombonist leads with a remarkably fluid, rapid-fire technique, propelled by a highly interactive and forceful rhythm section. 'Jazz Frontier' serves as a potent reminder of the muscular, blues-oriented scenes thriving outside of New York.
