Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing the classic Hammond B-3 organ trio format augmented by horns, 'Signifyin'' captures Lou Donaldson's masterful, blues-drenched alto saxophone tone. Backed by 'Big' John Patton on organ, the quintet navigates highly accessible, swinging vamps that bridge hard bop complexity with deep rhythm and blues grooves. It stands as a quintessentially soulful, laid-back entry in the Blue Note catalog.
