Album Notes & Community Reviews
Marking his debut for Arista Records, Lou Reed pivoted from the abrasive extremes of 'Metal Machine Music' to a remarkably slick, surprisingly lethargic brand of jazz-inflected pop rock. 'Rock and Roll Heart' relies heavily on his famously deadpan, highly sarcastic vocal delivery, offering deeply pessimistic, lethargic glimpses of urban hedonism and bisexual nightlife.
