Album Notes & Community Reviews

Representing a monumental breakthrough for Japanese heavy metal, this slickly produced album was the band's first release explicitly recorded entirely in English to court the American market. 'Thunder in the East' is powered by the incredibly flashy, Eddie Van Halen-inspired shredding of guitarist Akira Takasaki and massive, arena-ready vocal hooks. The album successfully cracked the Billboard Top 100, opening the door for Asian hard rock acts in the Western mainstream.
