Album Notes & Community Reviews

Shedding his trademark sardonic humor for a deeply personal, reflective tone, the veteran troubadour crafted what is widely considered his most mature release. 'History' primarily examines family dynamics, aging, and fractured relationships through stark, acoustic arrangements and unflinching lyrical honesty. The emotionally resonant album features notable guest appearances and marked a creative high point in his extensive discography.
