Album Notes & Community Reviews

The innovative French clarinetist and saxophonist leads an incredibly tight ensemble through a complex array of modern European jazz compositions. 'Chine' balances dense avant-garde improvisation with sharp, rhythmic jazz-funk elements and sophisticated chamber music interplay. The album secured Sclavis's reputation as a vital, boundary-pushing composer in the continental jazz scene.
