Album Notes & Community Reviews

Fronted by Jana Hunter, the Baltimore indie band drastically polishes their atmospheric post-punk sound into gleaming, 1980s-inspired synth-pop. Despite the upbeat, driving electronic arrangements, the lyricism remains intensely cerebral, exploring complex themes of systemic oppression, gender identity, and human resilience. The incredibly clean, crystalline production marked a bold, successful step towards pop accessibility.
