Steered by former solo artist Jana Hunter, the Baltimore quartet's debut bridges the gap between hazy shoegaze and motorik post-punk. Propelled by driving basslines and layers of warm, droning guitars, the record successfully transitions Hunter's lo-fi freak-folk roots into a surprisingly muscular and highly melodic full-band aesthetic.
