hugo

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On his third album, Loyle Carner delivers his most confrontational and urgent work to date. 'hugo' finds the South London rapper grappling with fatherhood, his mixed-race identity, and political anger, all over a backdrop of dynamic, jazz-infused production. It's a powerful and deeply personal record that balances moments of rage with profound vulnerability, earning a Mercury Prize nomination and widespread critical acclaim.
