Album Notes & Community Reviews
A cornerstone of the post-war avant-garde repertoire, this monumental work incorporates the Swingle Singers alongside a massive orchestra. The third movement famously utilizes a Mahler scherzo as a musical foundation, layering it with literary quotes from Samuel Beckett in a pioneering display of postmodern collage.
