Album Notes & Community Reviews
Abandoning the straightforward proto-doom of their debut, the German outfit took a sharp turn into highly complex, jazz-inflected progressive rock. Fronted by British vocalist John Lawton, the band incorporated frantic tempo changes, dissonant chord structures, and avant-garde tendencies that alienated some early fans while earning deep critical respect. The complex interplay between heavy guitars and swirling Hammond organs cemented its status as a uniquely challenging heavy prog artifact.
