Album Notes & Community Reviews

The third studio album from the boygenius member provides an intensely vivid, deeply nostalgic recounting of her youth in Richmond, Virginia. Her pristine vocals and indie-folk arrangements tackle complex themes of emerging queer identity, religious trauma, and the complicated dynamics of teenage friendships. The record solidified her reputation as one of the preeminent narrative songwriters of her generation.
