Album Notes & Community Reviews

Guided by the intense, highly energized baton of Charles Munch, this recording captures the rhythmic ferocity and massive scale of Beethoven's 'apotheosis of the dance'. The Boston Symphony Orchestra executes the demanding score with overwhelming, fiery momentum and brilliant sonic depth. It is widely considered one of the most viscerally thrilling symphonic interpretations of the era.
