Album Notes & Community Reviews

This recording captures the dramatic intensity of the composer's transition away from Mozartean models towards his own fiercely independent, heroic style. The stark, brooding minor-key themes demand rigorous technical precision from the soloist, maintaining a tense, powerful dialogue with the robust orchestral accompaniment.
