Album Notes & Community Reviews
Captured with the impressive symphonic weight required by the monumental score, this recording highlights the titanic struggle and utopian triumph of the composer's final symphony. The massive orchestral and choral forces are driven with a robust, heavily romanticized momentum typical of the 1930s. It stands as a profound auditory record of pre-war orchestral aesthetics.
