Drawn from a 1959 Rio de Janeiro session, the recording preserves Bonf谩 alone with his guitar in the year bossa nova broke, its original LP form having been 'O Viol茫o de Luiz Bonf谩' on the Cook label. It includes 'Manh茫 de Carnaval', the theme he wrote for 'Black Orpheus', heard in solo form and again as a closing reprise.
