The narrative serves as a foundation for Lupe Fiasco's intricate lyricism, which explores themes of historical injustice, resistance, and reimagined futures for victims of tragedy. The album's ambitious, multi-layered story is supported by a diverse and often jazz-inflected production palette, with Fiasco co-producing much of the project himself.
